Step-by-Step Application Process

Follow these steps in order. Each step is critical - skip none.

Activate UAN
Visit https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface. If UAN not activated: click "Activate UAN" โ†’ enter UAN, PF member ID, Aadhaar, OTP. Set password. UAN active.
Login to Member Portal
Login with UAN + Password + Captcha. Dashboard shows member profile, KYC status, employment history, claim history.
Verify KYC Status
Click "Manage" โ†’ "KYC". Verify Aadhaar (must be VERIFIED), PAN (verified), Bank Account (verified). All three need to be approved by employer for online claim.
Check PF Balance
Click "View" โ†’ "Passbook". Login again with UAN credentials. Download/view month-wise contributions, interest, balance. Note total balance.
Update Date of Exit
For final settlement after leaving job, update Date of Exit (DOE) at portal. Click "Manage" โ†’ "Mark Exit". Choose reason (Cessation, Termination, etc.). Wait 60 days from DOE for unemployment certification.
Initiate Online Claim
Click "Online Services" โ†’ "Claim (Form 31, 19, 10C, 10D)". System shows your last 4 digits of bank account - verify and authenticate.
Choose Claim Type
Form 19 (Final Settlement) - withdraw entire EPF after 2 months unemployment. Form 31 (Advance) - partial for specific reason. Form 10C (EPS Withdrawal) - if service less than 9.5 years.
Specify Reason (for Advance)
For Form 31 Advance, choose reason: Illness, Marriage, Education, House Construction, Home Loan Repayment, etc. Fill relevant details. Some reasons need certificates/proofs.
Submit Aadhaar OTP Authentication
OTP sent to mobile registered with Aadhaar. Enter OTP. Application submitted with Aadhaar e-Sign. Get acknowledgment with claim reference number.
Track Claim Status
